Let it Ride Strategy
It is important to know when you should let your chips ride and when to pull them back.
Failure to use proper game play will result in a greater
house edge. You can come out ahead in the short run,
breaking the Let it Ride strategy rules, but in the long run
it will cost you many bets.
After you
see your first three cards, you should let it ride if;
- You already have a paying hand such as a pair
of tens or better.
- If you have three cards to a Royal Flush.
- If you have a three card straight flush.
- If you have an inside straight draw consisting
of at least two high cards.
- A close call that you can make in Let it Ride
is letting it ride on a flush draw with two high cards.
After you
have seen the first community card, you could let it ride if;
- You already have a paying hand such as a pair
of tens or better.
- If you have a flush draw. 9 outs/48 cards at
8:1 = 168.8% average pay out
- If you have an outside straight draw. 8 outs/48
cards at 5:1 = 100% average pay out
- If you have an inside straight draw and four
high cards in your hand. 4 outs/48 cards at 5:1 + 12 outs/48
cards at 1:1 = 50.0% + 50% = 100% average pay out.
When there is only one card
left, the odds of pairing up any individual card is 6.25%,
you have a 25% chance of getting a minimum paying pair if
you have four high cards in your hand, a 16.6% chance of
completing an outside straight, a 8.3% chance of completing
an inside straight, a 18.8% chance of completing a flush, a
4.2% chance of getting an outside straight flush and a 2.1%
chance of getting your Royal Flush. You also will have
about the same chance of making an outside straight draw pay
as you would if you were trying to make a low pair hand pay
at this point.
